| Description | Walk-through programmable metal detector for standard security applications | Overview | The PMD2 (Programmable Metal Detector) Multi Zone is CEIA’s most advanced walk through metal detector, using patented technology that accurately locates weapons and considerably speeds up search and detection. It generates an electromagnetic scanning field for detecting metallic objects inside a monitored passage. A “height on person” display indicates the actual location of a suspected weapon by means of illuminated LEDs.
Unlike metal detectors with multiple receiver-transmitter coils and fixed location zones, the PMD2 Multi Zone uses variable and continuous location zones to achieve optimum resolution. The PMD2 is available in panel (PMD2/PTZ) or column (PMD2/ENZ) versions. An outdoor column version (PMD2/EWZ) is also available with an IP65 degree of protection. The PMD2 can be supplied with optional emergency batteries that operate automatically in the event of a power failure. The control unit is built-in and programming access is protected both by a mechanical lock and by alphanumeric passwords. An optional photocell transit counter enables statistical data collection.
