HIPE Multi Zone Walk Through Metal Detector
General Description
The HI-PE Multi Zone is a high performance walk-through metal detector
which exceeds all International Security Standards.
A “height on person” display actually indicates,
by means of illuminated LED’s, the position of the weapon on the
person. The location zones are not fixed, as in the case of walk-through
metal detectors with multiple receiver-transmitter coils, but are variable
and continuous so as to achieve optimum resolution.
The panels are washable and will not lose their shape
even in humid conditions; they are also equipped with shock absorbent
edges to protect it against damages.
HI-PE Multi Zone Walk Through Metal Detector can be
supplied, on request, with two emergency batteries that automatically
come into operation in the event of a mains failure.
A Photocell transit count, an option, allows for the
counting of the number of people passing through the walk through metal
detector.
Locating The Weapons Detected
In case of detection of metallic mass, the HI-PE Multi Zone walk-through
metal detector not only provides an acoustical and optical alarm, it also
gives an illuminated “height on person” indication by means
of two bar displays, which are built into the antenna of the metal detector.
These may be programmed to provide a display either on both sides or on
just one side of the gate.
The special signal analysis system allows the zones in which the metal
masses are detected to be displayed with a high degree of precision.
This allows inspection procedures to be reduced and consequently provides
a significant increase in the rate of people passing through.

Accessories / Options
Photocell transit counter
Photocell transit counter and automatic alarm rate calculation
Built into both panel and column antennae, the photocells allow
the number of people passing through the walk through metal detector
to be counted. The photocells are particularly useful in all situations
where statistical analysis has to be carried out on the access point
(number of transits, alarms and percentage of alarms). |

Back up batteries
Back up batteries with 45 minutes of independent operation
Two 12V-0.8Ah batteries built into the antenna which switch in automatically
and allow about half an hour of independent operation (low power mode)
in the event of a mains failure. The batteries recharge automatically
when power returns. |

Personal Effect Depository
This article acts both as a spacer between the X-ray unit and the
walk through metal detector and as a temporary depository for metal
personal effects which are not of dubious nature and therefore not
required to undergo X-ray analysis (coins, keys and so on). The base
is constructed in material that guarantees maximum compatibility with
the walk-though metal detector, and in such a way as not to transmit
any mechanical shocks from the X-ray unit to the inspection gate. |

MDSCOPE
Software package specifically
developed by CEIA in order to allow easy and complete testing of
the functioning of a walk-through metal detector - without the use
of special instrumentation - both during the setting up phase and
on the occasion of periodic tests. Using a personal computer, MDSCOPE
allows adjustment and monitoring of the metal detector, as well
as the storage and printing of the data gathered.

 |
Remote Control Unit
with 20m of connection cable.
The RCU unit, which is connected to the detector via a serial link,
allows programming to be carried out by remote control. The unit also
provides audible and visual alarm signalling, with a bar-graph indication
that is proportional to the metallic mass in transit. |
 |
Ethernet Network Controller
The MDNC-1 is an Ethernet Network Controller that can be connected
to CEIA Walk Through Metal Detectors through the RS-232 interface.
It contains a real-time clock with battery backup, and a large buffer
for storage of more than twenty thousand transit events. This ensures
that no data is lost in case of a network outage. As soon as the network
service resumes the transit data is transferred to the NetID™
database. The MDNC-1 is supplied with the MDNC Admin MS Windows application,
which is used to assign the desired network configuration and the
encryption key. |
